Architectural Ride

On Saturday at 1:00 pm, starting at the Wright Boat House (same start as the Sunday rides), we will have a special "Architectural Tour" ride. This will be a guided tour bike ride of about 30 miles at a relaxed pace. It will take in some of our local landmarks and architectural gems. Some of the sites we will see:

Then it is on to the Allentown Area, “Millionaires Row”, Elmwood Avenue and the Forest Lawn Cemetery. We will also bike by the Frank Lloyd Wright Heath House, the Albright Knox Art Gallery with its world-class collection of modern art, and the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society.   You will hear about the Pan Am Exposition and its impact on the history of Buffalo.

Graycliff Ride

If you're up for more of a challenge, join the Niagara Frontier Bicycle Club on one of their regular Saturday tour rides, the Graycliff ride. Starting from beautiful Chestnut Ridge Park, about 20 miles south of Buffalo, the ride meanders over hilly terrain to Lake Erie and back. It is about 50 miles in length, with a 40 mile short option. The ride gets its name from the Graycliff Mansion, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which the ride passes.

The ride starts at 9am at the casino parking lot of the park. Click here for directions to the park from wherever you're coming from. Arrive about 15 minutes early, look for all the people getting their bikes ready for the ride and ask for the ride leader. S/he will sign you in and provide a cue sheet and map.
